Book Signings


I’ve got my 3rd book signing for my 3rd book, Angel of Mercy, at Toadstool Book Store in Keene, NH. The first two were at Barnes & noble in Manchester and Salem. Hopefully it will go as well as the first two.

Book Signing!

Since I have posted last, I have signed on with a local publisher and have re-published my 3rd novel, Angel of Mercy. Now I can be in the book stores! Yea! Finished Book #4

I finally finished Book #4, Days of Destruction, but it’s too short.  Not wanting to make it a novella, I need to go back in and add more details.  I took a few days off from it so I can look at it with a sharper eye.  It’s so hard to get into the shoes of a hard-core male character, but I’m up to the challenge.

Here’s an excerpt from Chapter 7:

     Suddenly, there was a TAP, TAP, TAP on the front door.  Joey and I exchanged wide eyed looks.  Then he gave me the wad of cash.
     “Take this and don’t say a word to no one.”
     I pocketed the cash and jumped out the window, never looking back.
     About a block away, I heard two gunshots.  BANG!  BANG!!  Those sounds will forever be etched in my brain.  My family, as I knew it, was no more.  Once again, I was homeless.

Creating the “Hook”

I finished reading a writing book called Hooked by Les Edgerton and it really gave some insight to how important it is to show right from the begiining of your story, instead of telling all the backstory in the first chapter. I realize now that I did this with my first 2 books. I just rewrote the intro to my first book, LIFE IN THE FAST LANE, and I can see what the difference is, but I still like my original intro. I guess I’ll submit the active intro version to agents and see if they are “hooked.”

Welcome to my hectic life!  I have a family of 4 crazy girls, a nutty husband, goofy dog, and lazy cat.  I am an author, teacher, student, mother, psychologist, you name it.  There’s hardly a dull moment, but when I do get one I like to sit in my sunroom, drink my coffee, listen to the nature around me, and write.
